| 11.00h - 12.00h | TV and Video with free software by Andreas Jahnen and Johannes Hermen | Nowadays every regular PC can process music and video. During this
workshop we will show, how to set up with free software and some
additional hardware components, a digital video recorder, usable with
a monitor or a TV. Our multimedia centre will as well include a music
box, a photo album, games and a lot more – all operateable with a
remote control. Heutzutage kann jeder herkömmliche PC Musik und Video verarbeiten. Während diesem Workshop werden wir zeigen, wie man mit freier Software und einiger Zusatzhardware, einen digitalen Videorecorder bauen kann, der am Monitor oder Fernseher benutzbar ist. Unser Multimedia Center wird dabei auch eine Musikbox, ein Fotoalbum, Spiele und viele mehr bieten – alles bedienbar mit Hilfe einer Fernbedienung. Aujourd'hui, chacun peut utiliser son PC comme une station multimédia. Cette présentation va montrer comment on doit procéder pour, avec du hardware additionnel et des logiciels libres, faire la transformation de son PC pour y avoir un enregistreur video numérique qui peut être utilisé avec un moniteur ou une télévision. De plus notre station va être capable de jouer des MP3, de gérer des photos ou de figurer comme console de jeux. |
| 12.00h - 13.00h | Photos and GNU/Linux by Thorsten Ries and Marc Seil | Together with the rapid development in the area of digital photography, the requirements to PCs and software grow as well as the possibilities of manipulating. Removing red-eyes, creating presentations and online galleries are standard procedures. During the workshop, we will show you how to organize, modify and present photos under GNU/Linux. Therefore we will use tools like digiKam or Gimp and present common ways of doing so. Also several possibilities for an efficient organization, including the (online) presentation of your best shots will be given. Durch die rasante Entwicklung in der digitalen Fotografie, werden die Anforderungen an Computer und Software sowie die Möglichkeiten immer vielfältiger. Rote Augen sind schnell entfernt, Diashows einfach erstellt und online Gallerien gehören bereits zum Standard. Im Rahmen des Workshops wollen wir zeigen, wie Fotos unter GNU/Linux verwaltet, verändert und präsentiert werden. Dazu werden wir Tools, wie digiKam oder Gimp zeigen, und auf gängige Prozeduren eingehen. Ebenso werden verschiedene Möglichkeiten erläutert die eine effiziente Organisation und gelungene Präsentation Ihrer Aufnahmen ermöglicht. L'imagerie numérique connaisse dans ces dernières années un grand succès. Avec la croissance dans ce domaine, le rôle des ordinateurs et des applications suivent cette tendance. Élimination des yeux rouges, création d'une diashow ou la mise en ligne d'une galerie photo sont des tâches standards. L'organisation et la sauvegarde des images est une problématique actuelle dans le domaine de la photographie numérique. Dans le cadre du workshop, différents logiciels (digiKam, gimp, ..) sont présentés. |
| 13.00h - 14.00h | Music publishing/producing by Patrick Harpes and Nico Mack | During this workshop, the participants can see how to produce music using Free and Open Source software. The first part of the workshop will focus on how to set-up a Linux system to work with sound and Midi. The main focus of this workshop is to show different applications such as note editors, sequencers, audio editors, samplers, drum computers etc. Ziel dieses Workshops ist es den Teilnehmern zu zeigen wie man Musik mittels freier Software produzieren kann. Eingangs wird erklärt wie man Linux konfigurieren muss um mit Audio- sowie Midi- Dateien zu arbeiten. Der Schwerpunkt aber liegt in der Präsentation von Notations Software, Sequencern, Audio Editoren, Samplers, Drumcomputer usw. Le but de cet atelier est de présenter les possibilités de produire de la musique en utilisant des Logiciels Libre et Linux. La première partie de l'atelier sera consacrée à la configuration de Linux pour être capable de travailler avec du son et des données Midi. Ensuite on va présenter différents logiciels libres du type éditeur de partitions, séquenceurs, éditeurs son, boîte rythmique etc. |
| 14.00h - 15.00h | Audio Workshop – Listening and Storing by Martin Heinemann | This workshop is dealing with the storing and playing of digital music. At first it will introduce into the way how to obtain digital music in a legal way and how to store and organize it on the computer. The second part presents modern free music players that have far more functionalities as just playing music. Der Workshop beschäftigt sich mit dem Abspielen und Speichern von Musik in digitaler Form. Inhaltlich geht es darum, wie man Musik auf legale Weise auf seinen Rechner bekommt und in welcher Form man diese speichern und organisieren kann. Des weiteren werden freie moderne Musik Player vorgestellt die weit mehr können, als nur Musik abspielen. Cette présentation va montrer comment on peut écouter et organiser de la musique sous forme numérique. Les participants vont apprendre comment télécharger légalement de la musique sur son ordinateur et comment organiser ces fichiers. En outre plusieurs différents logiciels libres servant d'organiser et de jouer de la musique vont être présentés. |
| 15.30h - 16.30h | Tux-Industries by Ortwin Donak Matthieu Farcot Patrick Harpes Gilbert Klein Georges Schütz | Pièce de théâtre en un acte écrite et réalisée par les membres du CRP Henri Tudor, Tux Industries a pour objectif de démontrer de manière ludique comment une entreprise peut faire usage des logiciels libres et Open Source pour fonctionner au quotidien. 5 acteurs sont présents sur scène, chacun représentant une activité spécifique au sein de cette entreprise virtuelle. L'objet central de cette pièce étant le logiciel libre, tous les dialogues et les présentations se font en temps réel, grâce à des logiciels libres fonctionnels. Au-delà de l'aspect ludique, pris en compte par les auteurs pour rendre cette pièce intéressante à tout public, se trouve ainsi les aspects techniques. Non seulement les acteurs expliquent en situation comment ils utilisent leurs logiciels, mais ils le montrent aussi. Chacun des acteurs incarne un département spécifique de l'entrepise : • 1 Directeur, utilisant surtout des applications bureautiques, mail et web. • 1 Graphiste/Designer, pour les outils de publications et de manipulation d’images • 1 Chercheur utilisant des produits dans le domaine de la science et de la recherche • 1 Ingénieur système gérant l’infrastructure informatique de l’entreprise 1 Ingénieur responsable de la production, montrant enfin comment intégrer le Logiciel Libre dans les lignes de productions. One act play set up by members of the CRP Henri Tudor, which aims at demonstrating in an amusing way how a company can use free and open source software to run. Five actors are on stage, each representing a specific activity of this virtual company. The central theme of the play being free software, all presentations are done live, using operational softwares. In addition to the entertaining aspects which make this play enjoyable to the largest possible audience, technical aspects are also dealt with. Not only the actors explain how they use their software in their different positions, but they actually show it. Each of the actors represents a specific department of the company : • A director, who mainly uses office productivity, mail and web softwares • A designer, who demonstrates publications and image manipulation tools • A researcher, who uses products dedicated to research and science • A system engineer, in charge of the computer infrastructure of the company, and • A production engineer, who finally shows how to integrate free software in production |
| 17.00h - 20.00h | Concert Jamendo with The Sunchase www.sunchase.new.fr | Jamendo is a web based platform proposing a new concept for promotion, diffusion and payment of artists and there music. The music is diffused via the web based on one of the creative commons licences, protecting the artist and giving everybody access to the music. We will organize a concert with one or two artists providing their music via Jamendo. Jamendo ist eine web basierte Plattform welche ein neuartiges Konzept darstellt wo Künstler Ihre Musik promoten, veröffentlichen und bezahlt werden können. Die Musik wird unter eine der Creative Commons Lizenzen veröffentlichen was dem Künstler zugute kommt und gleichzeitig der Gemeinschaft den freien Zugang ermöglicht. Wir organisieren ein Konzert mit ein bis zwei Künstlern welche Ihre Musik über Jamendo veröffentlichen. Jamendo est une plate-forme sur le Web qui propose un nouveau concept de promotion, diffusion et de payement pour les artistes et leur musique. La musique est diffusée par le Web sur base d'une licence Creative Commons qui protège l'artiste mais en même temps donne l'accès au publique. Nous allons organiser un concert avec un ou deux artistes qui diffusent leur musique via Jamendo. |

| 11.00h - 12.00h | Linux for Kids by Georges Schütz | This workshop will show how kids from 5 years on can make use of free and open-source software. Two topics will be focused: first, what does exist in the field of pedagogical and educational software for kids and second, how the parents or responsible can set up a GNU/Linux system that is kid proofed. Additionally an overview of the communities focusing Linux for kids will be given. Ziel dieses Workshops ist zu zeigen wie Kinder ab 5 Jahre freie und offene Software nutzen können. Der Workshop hat zwei Schwerpunkte: erstens, was existiert im Bereich pädagogischer bzw. bildungsorientierter Software für Kinder und zweitens wie können Eltern bzw. verantwortliche Personen ein Kinder erprobtes GUN/Linux System aufsetzten. Weiter wird ein Überblick gegeben wo sich der interessierte zum Thema Linux für Kinder informieren und austauschen kann. Cet atelier à comme but de montrer comment des enfants à partir de 5 ans peuvent profiter du logiciel libre. Deux sujets principaux vont être abordés: premièrement, quelles sont les logiciels pédagogiques ou éducatifs pour enfants qui existent, deuxièmement, comment les parents ou responsables peuvent ils mettrent en place un système GNU/Linux qui est adapté aux enfants. De plus, un aperçu des communautés qui abordent le sujet « Linux for kids » est donnée. |

The workshop will introduce OpenOffice.org in order to discover the key applications to create: text documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings and database connectivity as an alternative to other office suites. OpenOffice.org ist ein freies und offenes Softwareprojekt das ein Plattform übergreifendes Office Programm zur Verfügung stellt. Ziel dieses Workshops ist es eine Einführung in OpenOffice.org zu geben und die Hauptprogramme zum erstellen von: Textdokumenten, Tabellenkalkulation, Präsentationen, Grafiken und Datenbankverbindungen darzustellen. OpenOffice.org est un projet libre et open-source qui produit une suite Office multi-OS. L'atelier va donner une introduction à OpenOffice.org en faisant découvrir au public les applications clef pour créer des documents textes, des tableurs, des présentations, des graphiques et pour la manipulation de bases de données. |
