Additional packages to install

Based on an classical Kubuntu/Ubuntu installation the following additional packages have to be installed.

aptitude install ipython eclipse eclipse-pydev python-doc python-scipy python-matplotlib-doc

Paper for the Workshop

The Workshop was divided into two principal parts: one focused on python principals and some environments adapted to be used for scientific and interactive work. The second part was focused on the python extensions needed for scientific work.

Currently the paper is in a draft version and only containing the first part of the workshop. But you can download it and come back later to get a more complete version.

The second part of the workshop was based on two presentations done by Eric Jones of Enthought and Travis Oliphant of Brigham Young University (see Links).
